There was never a place that the African proverb were more true than in this sport of dogs;
"It takes an entire community to raise a child."

In the twelve years since my first smooth wandered into my life, I have had the tremendous fortune to have mentors who have raised me up in this sport to compete evenly with them. Western Fox Terriers Breeders Association is the best club any newbie dog enthusiast could have hoped to join into.
My Smooths have earned titles in Conformation, Earthdog and Obedience competition. I have bred eleven litters of Smooth puppies which have so far, produced fourteen champions, total;
there are others which are "pointed" and some too young to show yet!

I have traveled to specialty shows in different parts of the country, supporting many regional specialties, the American Fox Terrier Club & the Smooth Fox Terrier Association of America.
I also had the good fortune to make friends with some of
Australian's finest Fox Terrier fanciers: Optimo, Springfox & Rama, when I traveled there in 1995. I am forever indebted to the support of Mrs. Jan Braithwaite, Melbourne Australia for entrusting me with my foundation bitch, Australian / American CH Mansevale Madeira Mydear, ROM, "Connie."
As a science teacher of 17 years, I can honestly say I love people, puzzles and learning... I view my efforts in breeding, studying, rearing,
training and exhibiting Smooths as another, richer, academic pursuit...
and I am in it for life!
